The Inspectorate of Government Act (Act No. 5 of 2002) of Uganda was adopted on 5 March 2002.
The purpose of this Act is to make provisions for the Inspectorate General of Government (IGG) in line with Chapter Thirteen of the Constitution and in particular to give effect to the provisions of that Chapter as required by articles 225, 226 and 232 of the Constitution and to repeal the Inspectorate of Government Statute, 1988.
The Inspectorate General of Government is using the IGG Act 2002 where corruption is defined to include abuse of office, embezzlement theft, etc.
