The International Co-operation in Criminal Matters Act (Act No. 75 of 1996) of South Africa was adopted on 20 November 1996 and commenced on 1 January 1998.
This Act provides for international co-operation in criminal matters with foreign states in respect of the provision of evidence, the execution of sentences and compensatory orders, and the enforcement of confiscation and restraint orders.
