The Kabarole Chief Administrative Officer has been transferred to Mpigi amid corruption scandals rocking the district administration.

Mr Solomon Kalibwani’s two-year reign was characterised by corruption accusations and counter accusations. The Inspector General of Government report released recently ranks Kabarole as the second most corrupt district.

Local Government Minister Adolf Mwesige called a meeting last month for local council leaders and the technical staff with an aim of mapping a way forward after the corruption allegations reached peak.
It is not yet clear if his transfer is connected with the meeting held with the minister.

District chairman Michael Mugisa confirmed Mr Kalibwani’s transfer.
“He has been transferred and replaced by Mr Juma Nyende,” he said on Monday.
Kabarole residents allege that during his term as Cao, the district lost over Shs80 million, most of it meant for improving water.
