Finnish Financial Supervision Authority (FIN-FSA)

The Finnish Financial Supervision Authority (FIN-FSA) supervises financial markets and those who participate in these markets. Entities supervised by it include banks, investment firms, management companies and the stock exchange as well as other financial institutions.

The objective of the Authority's operations is to ensure financial stability and maintain public confidence in financial markets, as stated in the Act on the Financial Supervision Authority.

Our aim is to ensure that:

  • supervised entities have adequate risk-bearing capacity and sound corporate governance
  • codes of conduct followed by supervised entities and information published promote sound development of the markets
  • regulation is proactive, and supervision and the use of law by the FIN-FSA is responsible
  • our operations are effective and can stand up to international comparison.
