The Department of Assets Recovery and International Legal Cooperation (DRCI), created through Decree No. 4991 of February 18, 2004, is subject to the National Secretariat of Justice (SNJ) of the Ministry of Justice. It is an acronym of the Portuguese name "Departamento de Recuperação de Ativos e Cooperação Jurídica Internacional".
One of the main goals of the Brazilian government in the fight against organized crime is to make the state more efficient in the recovery of assets of ilicit origin. For this was the Departament of Assets Recovery and International Legal Cooperation (DRCI) under the National Secretariat of Justice of the Ministry of Justice.
The DRCI through its Coordination General for Recovery of Assets, plays important role in the activity state of recovery of assets of illicit origin.
In order to make more effective the public actions for the recovery of assets both abroad as in the country, the DRCI is responsible for performing the following activities:
