Extradition Treaty between the Republic of South Africa and the People's Republic of China, 2002

The Extradition Treaty between the Republic of South Africa and the People's Republic of China was ratified by Parliament on 11 November 2002 and entered into force on 17 November 2004. A notice was published in Government Gazette 27168 of 21 January 2005.

According to Art. 1 of the Treaty, each Contracting State agrees to extradite to the other, in accordance with the provisions of this Treaty and at the request of the other Contracting State, persons who are wanted for prosecution or imposition or enforcement of a sentence in the Requesting State for an extraditable offence.
