Fugitive Offenders Ordinance (Cap. 503), 1997

The Fugitive Offenders Ordinance (Cap. 203) of Hong Kong was adopted on 25 April 1997.

The purposes of this Ordinance are

  • to make provision for the surrender to certain places outside Hong Kong of persons wanted for prosecution, or for the imposition or enforcement of a sentence, in respect of certain offences against the laws of those places;
  • for the treatment of persons wanted for prosecution, or for the imposition or enforcement of a sentence, in respect of certain offences against the law of Hong Kong who are surrendered from such places;
  • and for matters incidental thereto or connected therewith.
