The Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority (AFSA) was established in 2006 by the Law No. 9752 on Financial Supervisory Authority and is a public independent institution. The AFSA is responsible for the regulation and supervision of the non-banking financial system and the operators of the sector. The AFSA reports to the Albanian Parliament.

The main areas of AFSA's activity are regulation and supervision:

  • of insurance market and its operators;
  • of securities market and its operators;
  • of private supplementary pensions market and its operators;
  • of other non-banking financial activities.

It's primary goals are the protection of consumers’ interests, the promotion of sustainability, transparency and reliability in insurance area, securities and private supplementary pensions’ area. Our activity is characterized by professionalism, transparency and high standard services for all interested parties.
