The Costa Rican Institute on Drugs (ICD) is in charge of coordinating, designing and implementing the policies, plans and strategies for the prevention of drug use as well as the policies, plans and strategies against illicit drug-trafficking and money laundering. It is part of the Ministry of the Presidency. The FIU is part of the ICD.
Roberto QuirĂ³s Benavides is the chief of the FIU.
