This page references a case heard at the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) between an Isle of Man Company, World Duty Free Ltd. and the Kenyan government in regards to a contract for space at the Nairobi airport.
In the case, the plaintiff Ali Nasif, gave testimony as part of his defense that he had bribed President Daniel Moi for US $2 million dollars in order to have the rights to set up a Duty Free store at the Nairobi airport.
Since the contract was tainted by bribery, ICSID held that it was null and void that the Kenyan government had no obligation to uphold it. However, no charges of bribery or malfeasance were filed against Mr. Moi as a result of this action.
