This video clip is from the workshop on "Implementing the Asset Recovery Provisions of the United Nations Convention against Corruption", hosted by the International Centre for Asset Recovery of the Basel Institute on Governance, in cooperation with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on 15-16 May 2007 in Basel, Switzerland. It was attended by 25 specialists in the area of asset recovery from around the world, and 30 observers.

At the plenary session "Case Study 2: The Innovative Case - Vladimiro Montesinos", Prof. Mark Pieth, President of Board, Basel Institute on Governance, Switzerland, and Daniel Claman, Senior Trial Attorney, US Department of Justice, USA, address the issue of conditionality in return and disposal of assets. In particular, they discuss the requirements of Art. 57 UNCAC.
