The Protocol on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) was adopted at Luanda, Republic of Angola, on 3 October 2002.
According to Art. 2 of the Protocol, the State Parties shall, in accordance with this Protocol, provide each other with the widest possible measure of mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.
