The Treaty between Switzerland and the United States of America concerning mutual legal assistance in criminal matters (with correspondence), SR 0.351.933.6, was concluded on 25 May 1973 and approved by the federal assembly on 18 June 1975. The ratification documents were exchanged on 27 July 1976 and the contract entered into force on 23 January 1977.
In this Treaty the contracting parties pledge, in accordance with the terms of the treaty, to provide each other with mutual legal assistance in preliminary or court proceedings brought on account of criminal acts.
