Extradition Treaty between the Republic of South Africa and the Republic of India, 2004

The Extradition Treaty between the Republic of South Africa and the Republic of India was ratified by Parliament on 9 November 2004 and entered into force on 6 December 2005. A notice was published in Government Gazette 28680 of 7 April 2006.

According to Art. 1 of the Treaty, each Contracting State agrees to extradite to the other, in accordance with the provisions of this Treaty, persons who are wanted for trial/prosecution or the imposition or enforcement of a sentence in the Requesting State for an extraditable offence.
